Which AI interior design tool? RoomGPT, Interior AI, IKEA Kreativ and others

What does each tool do?
Three questions set them apart: do they start from a photo of your room, are the objects drawn real products, and is the room measured before the furniture is chosen?

Is there a genuinely free AI interior design tool?
Yes, for ideas; more rarely for a shopping list. Here is what each tool offers, as it publishes it:
- IKEA Kreativ and Havenly AI are free.
- RoomsGPT, a different site from RoomGPT, one letter apart: three renders a day with no account and no card, four with a free account.
- ReimagineHome: five free renders, no card required.
- RoomGPT: one free render when you sign up with Google.
- Rhinov's Diagnostic Déco (in French): free, from a photo; advice and products arrive by email.
- Meubly: its home page invites you to start for free without quantifying a free offer; credit packs from €9.90.
- Interior AI: no free plan on its home page.
- DecoScale: the first layout is free, no card required, with an account whose email address is confirmed. Further layouts are paid: see pricing.
Being free does not change the nature of the result. If the furniture drawn has neither a product reference nor dimensions, you still have to find it yourself, then check that it fits.
What do these tools do better than DecoScale?
- Speed. Interior AI and Havenly AI announce a result in a few seconds. DecoScale takes one to four minutes, because it measures the room and checks every piece against those measurements before drawing.
- Every room. RoomGPT says it transforms any room, and Interior AI offers more than thirty room types, kitchens and outdoor spaces included. DecoScale only handles the living room and the bedroom.
- Less effort. RoomGPT and Meubly start from a single photo. DecoScale recommends three photos, and asks for two measurements taken with a tape measure, the back wall and the depth, before suggesting any furniture.
- 3D, by hand. IKEA Kreativ is free, its furniture is to scale and you move it yourself. DecoScale delivers an image, not a 3D room. On the other hand, according to IKEA's US help page (the French help page checked does not say), textiles and ceiling-mounted items such as pendant lights are not supported yet; DecoScale includes curtains, cushions and pendant lights.
- A human. Havenly offers an online designer, Rhinov decorators who lay out your room in 3D. DecoScale is fully automatic.
- Buying the set at once. ReimagineHome adds the whole set to a basket in one go, and Havenly AI lets you buy everything in its app. With DecoScale, each purchase is made at its own merchant.
What does DecoScale do differently?
It reverses the usual order: it measures the room and chooses the furniture before drawing, instead of looking afterwards for products that resemble the image. The room is estimated from your photos, then set to the two measurements you take; no furniture is chosen before that. The products come from real merchants, with the price and dimensions they publish, and are chosen based on your budget: any overrun is shown, with its cause. Their placement leaves doors, windows and radiators clear, and 90 cm for the main walkway; in a small room, it keeps the layout that breaks these rules the least.

Its limits, stated just as plainly. The render is an image generated by artificial intelligence: each object is labelled “exactly this product” or “inspiration”. Under “inspiration”, the link, the price, the merchant and the dimensions are those of the product, but the object drawn is an interpretation and may not look like it. DecoScale does not check that a piece fits through the front door or up the stairs (see how to check that furniture will fit). It does not handle kitchens, bathrooms or gardens, and offers no walk-through 3D.
How was this comparison made?
The findings come from each tool's public pages, read on 23 and 24 September 2026, without a paid subscription. A feature reserved for logged-in accounts may therefore be missing here: “not described” does not mean “absent”. Prices are those each tool displays, in its own currency, on that date; they change often. Is there a free AI interior design tool without sign-up?
Among the tools checked on 24 September 2026, RoomsGPT says so: three renders a day with no account and no card. RoomGPT asks you to sign up with Google for its free render, and DecoScale asks for an account with a confirmed email address for its free first layout.
Are RoomGPT and RoomsGPT the same tool?
No: they are two different sites, roomgpt.io and roomsgpt.io, with different offers. As of 24 September 2026, RoomGPT gives one free render when you sign up with Google and shows its credit prices only after login; RoomsGPT gives three renders a day without an account, four with a free account, and plans from $4.99 a month.
Does the generated image show exactly the furniture I buy?
Not always. The image generators checked describe no purchase link: their furniture does not lead to any product. At DecoScale, every clickable object carries a label: “exactly this product”, or “inspiration” when the object drawn is an interpretation that may not look like the product; the link, the price, the merchant and the dimensions remain those of the product.
Is there an AI interior design tool in French?
Yes. Among the tools checked on 24 September 2026, IKEA Kreativ is in French on IKEA's French site, Meubly and DecoScale are available in French and English, and Rhinov is a French service. RoomGPT, Interior AI, Havenly AI and ReimagineHome are in English.
Can AI replace an interior designer?
Not for everything. An AI proposes a layout from a photo, in a few seconds or a few minutes depending on the tool; a designer brings a point of view, trade-offs and follow-through on a project. Some services combine the two: Havenly adds an online designer to its free AI, and Rhinov a free diagnostic to its interior decorators.
